
FC Dallas opened the Major League Soccer season on the road with a win at the Houston Dynamo February 22 and a draw against the Colorado Rapids last Saturday. This Saturday, FC Dallas hosts its first home match of 2025 against Chicago Fire FC.
But the game isn't the only headline because the food is taking a turn in the spotlight. Legends Hospitality is introducing 17 new items to concessions stands at Toyota Stadium in Frisco for this season; four other items that debuted last year will return.
"Texas is a very diverse place, so we like to match that," says Executive Chef Erika Dabney. "We have a lot of fan feedback, and what I gathered is we need some new and improved items they haven't seen at any stadium."
"This year, we were watching what is trendy and what people are eating," Dabney says. "Brisket's always top of the list, but so are tater tots."
Brisket Tacho Tacos also include tater tots, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo.
Burnt End Brisket Nachos include brisket served on tortilla chips and "Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce."
"This is my actual favorite," Dabney says. "This is something we do very well, and everybody really likes. We added some charred corn, and we also added that Coca-Cola BBQ sauce to our nachos to give it an extra flavor."
Coca-Cola BBQ sauce also appears on the Coca-Cola BBQ Bacon Burger.
"We have our classic cheeseburger that we've upgraded to a bacon cheeseburger," she says. "We've customized it as well with our new Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce, and that gives it a nice sweet and tangy flavor."
Other new items include "Meatzza Pizza Fries," which are French fries topped with Italian sausage, pepperoni and marinara, the "Striker Burrito," which includes ground beef, shredded cheese, tater tots and refried beans, and "Kicked up Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich."
"This has loads of meat, loads of cheese," Dabney says. "This could feed at least two or three people. It is massive. Please, if you don't have an appetite, I wouldn't order that."
Dabney says FC Dallas is also adding several vegan and vegetarian items including the "Vegetarian 'Chicken' Salad Croissant Sandwich," "Vegetarian Greek Salad," "Crudité Cup" and "Vegan Sausage."
She says Legends works to provide different options that can appeal to different people.
"That's the fun part of it. It's like the whole season is an experiment," Dabney says. "You never know exactly what will take off, but most of the time, when you're doing something with love and you're doing it right, everything will take off and become popular."
