A Burleson man who was busted last month after the feds had to evacuate a neighborhood because of explosive material found in his home is now facing federal charges.

Records show 22-year-old Noah Robert Calderon has been charged with one count of possession of a destructive device.

In March, federal officials say they received a tip that Calderon detonated a homemade bomb in a residential neighborhood. Many people called 9-1-1 reporting the explosion.

The Justice Department says Calderon shared images of handmade explosives on social media. They say their investigation also shows that Calderon embraces white supremacist ideology and is fascinated with mass shootings, like the one at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999.

"This defendant exhibited several indicators of potential violence: a fascination with mass shooters, an obsession with weapons, and hatred towards a protected class. What’s worse, he had allegedly progressed from ideation to planning and preparation," said U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton.

If convicted, Calderon faces up to ten years in federal prison.
