A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery following a shooting at a Burleson park that left one teenager dead and another injured, authorities said.

Burleson police identified the deceased as 17-year-old Keighan Robert Crist. Officers responded around 11:33 p.m. Sunday to reports of a shooting in the Bailey Lake parking lot and found Crist unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

A second 17-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to another hospital for treatment. Investigators said the shooting occurred during a narcotics transaction involving three suspects.

Police quickly located 17-year-old Wyatt Lynn Jacobs at a nearby residence. He was detained, interviewed by detectives, and reportedly admitted involvement in the shooting.

He was booked into the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center on a combined bond set at $1,200,000.
