A man is up on charges in Tarrant County following Thursday's carjacking that led to a police chase on Loop 820.
North Richland Hills police got 911 calls about a carjacking on the Loop 820 service road near Rufe Snow. Witnesses saw the carjacker pull a gun on the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder.
The gunman took off in the SUV but police got on his tail and chased him to Precinct Line Road where the carjacker took the U-Turn and went back the other way on 820 until he crashed between Boulevard 26 and Holiday Lane.
Police pulled him out of the wreckage and, seeing he was hurt, had paramedics take him to the hospital to get checked out.
Once the doctors clear him, he'll be jailed on a string of charges that include Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
