A Cedar Hill woman and her grandson are okay after her home was heavily damaged by a fire last night.
Just before 8 p.m. the woman and her grandson heard a loud booming sound and then they saw the flames in the home on Venus Street near Highway 67 and Parkerville Road.
The grandson helped gramma out of the house as it was catching fire around them. They both are safe but, sadly, their dog was killed.
Investigators don't yet know the source of the "boom" or the cause of the fire.
