The Dallas County District Attorney's office is keeping mum on today's decision to drop a felony charge against former Dallas City Councilman Kevin Felder.
Felder, 63, was indicted for failure to stop and render aid after police say he hit a man with his car as the man rode on a motorized scooter near Fair Park Feb. 13, 2019.
Investigators said, Felder then tried to personally call then Police Chief Renee Hall. Felder's car was towed and processed in connection with the accident.
Since then, the case has been reset more than a dozen times. Some court records said the two sides have been in negotiations. Today the DA's office dismissed the case.
The Dallas County District Attorney's office declined comment. Felder's lawyer did not return our call. The victim in the accident cannot be reached.
