After the body of a 10-year-old boy was found Tuesday in Milwaukee, Wisc., the bodies of two missing men were also found in the water Thursday.

According to Fox 6 News, two men went in after 10-year-old Mohammad Arman when he fell into city a drainage ditch Monday. They were missing Tuesday when the boy was found.

Families of the men identified them as Zakaria Gonumeah and the boy’s father, Rashidullah Arman. The Milwaukee Medical examiner confirmed that bodies found Thursday were of the two missing men.

A Twitter page for the Milwaukee Police Department Thursday said they would provide updates about the tragic loss of three people.

Both men, and the boy, appeared to be swept up in rushing water. Drainage tunnels in the area drain into the Kinnickinnic River.

“There are a lot of twists and turns in the river in this part of town, a lot of areas for debris to get snagged, and we search every single one of those areas,” said Milwaukee Fire Department Deputy Chief Erich Roden.

Gonumeah’s niece Hamilah Hassan said her uncle “saw how fast the water was going,” and that “he knew he couldn’t keep up.”

Crews searched three 900-ft. tunnels in the city before they found Mohammad, who would have turned 11 on July 4, according to Fox 6.

“This is a horrible day. It’s not going to be as horrible as it is for the family,” said Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski Tuesday. “You can see it. It’s wearing heavy on everybody.”

“It’s a very difficult moment because you’re dealing with life and death, and to understand what the family is going through is very, very hard,” said Hassinah Ahmad, a friend of the family.
