A judge has dismissed a theft charge against a Houston doctor who was accused of stealing a vial of the coronavirus vaccine.
Dr. Hasan Gokal worked for Harris County Public Health. He was accused of stealing a damaged vial of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine and administering doses to his friends and family...including his wife.
Dr. Gokal insisted he did nothing wrong and was only trying to ensure the vaccine was not wasted.
A judge yesterday found no probable cause to charge him with theft. His attorneys say his name was disparaged and he was fired without cause.
