FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) -- Fort Worth's Alliance Airport is getting a new name. Tuesday night, the city council approved the new name: Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport.

The change honors businessman Ross Perot who donated nearly 400 acres of land to get the airport started 34 years ago.

The proposal must now be sent to the Federal Aviation Administration and the FAA process generally takes two or three months.
