Collin County Commissioners want answers

Commissioners want to know why hundreds of people waited in line for hours for vaccines yesterday in Collin County, only to get turned away.

Major issues were reported at John Clark Stadium, one of Collin County's biggest vaccination centers in Plano.

County officials say miscalculations estimated 30 percent of people with appointments wouldn't show up for their vaccine. So officials over-scheduled people in hopes of administering as many shots as possible. That ended up leaving 750 people who had appointments, without vaccines.

During an emergency meeting Friday, County judge Chris Hill says this is unacceptable.

"Many of us on commissioners court first heard about this on social media. I want a decision to shut down a site, made by my team. We your (Curative) team has concerns, they need to reach out to us," he says.

Hill says the hub should have remained open.

Officials say all those who were turned away on Thursday, have been told to come back Monday.
