When it comes to groundbreakings, this one ranks up there among the cutest of them all.

Preschoolers with their little shovels tossed some pink dirt, signifying the start of construction of the new Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills.

"Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas-Fort Worth will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, themed playscapes and shows all based on the instantly recognizable locations from the globally popular brand," says Jeremy Aguillen, the park's general manager.

One of the rides will be Daddy Pig's Rollercoaster.

"This family friendly thrill ride is designed to be the perfect first roller coaster for brave little ones as they take a ride on it with Daddy Pig in his recognizable red car and go on an unexpected adventure when Mr. Bull's 'Dig It Everywhere' leads to Daddy Pig exploring on backroads," says Hasbro executive Matt Proulx.

This is only the second Peppa Pig Theme Park in the world; the other being in Winter Haven, Florida.

While it will provide lots of fun for the littlest of kids, it will mean big businesses for the city and its economy.

"The theme park, thoughtfully designed with preschoolers in mind, will bring 100 new full time and part time jobs to the city of North Richland Hills," says Aguillen.

The park is slated to open next year, coinciding with Peppa Pig's 20th birthday.

"We can't wait for families to experience Peppa and her playground in person as they jump in to explore play and build their families' first theme park experience together," says Proulx.
