The psychiatry department at Fort Worth's Cook Children's Hospital is deeply worried about a strong surge in children, and-teenager, suicide attempts.
In January, the hospital admitted 40 minors after trying to commit suicide. That's twice the number from the January before.
In February, the number was 35 and in March it was 43. Both numbers up sharply from a year earlier.
The increase in both suicides and attempts is seen across the country.
According to the CDC, suicide is now the number two cause of death among people in the age range of 10-to-34.
