A one-of-one Cooper Flagg NBA Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card sold for $8.04 million early Friday in a Fanatics Collect auction, becoming the third-most expensive NBA card on record.
The card pairs Flagg’s autograph with the debut patch from the jersey he wore in his first regular-season game for the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 22, 2025. PSA graded both the card and the signature a perfect 10. Yahoo Sports reported the sale also set a new high for any Flagg card. His previous public record was about $366,000.
Collector Jason Williams pulled the redemption in an Aug. 10 box break after buying a Mavericks spot for $515. Offers poured in, including a Mavericks package of 32 years of premium season tickets, a meet-and-greet and signed Flagg memorabilia. Goldin Auctions offered a $1.5 million cash advance. A bounty auction on another platform topped $3 million before Williams consigned the card to Fanatics Collect for its Sept. 10-24 Premier auction.

Flagg was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Duke and won Rookie of the Year after averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The card became one of the most chased pieces in modern collecting because it is unique and tied to his first NBA game.
The same auction sold similar one-of-one debut patch autographs for San Antonio’s Dylan Harper ($2.88 million) and Charlotte’s Kon Knueppel ($2.34 million). Those three cards were the only lots to clear $1 million and now rank as the highest known sales for Rookie Debut Patch Autographs in any sport.
Topps, owned by Fanatics, launched the debut-patch format in baseball in 2023. Paul Skenes’ version later sold for $1.1 million. Only two NBA cards have sold for more than Flagg’s: dual logomen cards pairing Kobe Bryant with Michael Jordan and Jordan with LeBron James, each in eight figures last year.
