Council moves forward with Klyde Warren Park Expansion

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Dallas city council approved a measure today, that moves the expansion of Klyde Warren Park along.

The measure includes money to facilitate the expansion that will include 1.5 acres of new deck park over Woodall Rodgers Freeway, with a multipurpose building and new dog park.

But Councilman Chad West warned fellow members when they fund the building, the city must fund the maintenance.

"When we do these big projects, we have to understand that there is a need for ongoing maintenance. It's an important to remember because the money has got to come from somewhere, and come from somewhere else," West says.

City manager TC Broadnax says building things in Dallas has never been a problem for the city, but maintenance of the projects often has.
