COVID-19 vaccination rates stalling in north Texas

Anheuser-Busch is dangling the latest incentive designed to convince unvaccinated Americans to get the COVID-19 shot.

The brewery giant announced if 70% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine by July 4, everyone of legal drinking age will get a free beer.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that barbershops and hairdressers will be encouraged to allow COVID vaccinations in their places of business.  Officials hope that effort will boost vaccination rates in minority communities.

Texas continues to lag behind the national average in the percentage of vaccinated residents. The good news is that COVID-19 case numbers continue to drop.

KRLD's Chris Sommer got an update on the quest for herd immunity from Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council President/CEO Stephen Love.
