The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up their second preseason loss at AT&T Stadium Saturday night, falling 31–13 to the Baltimore Ravens. A jarring sequence of miscues and missed opportunities underscored the challenges still facing this young Cowboys roster as they prepare for the regular season.
The game got off on the wrong foot with a safety on the very first offensive third down, followed swiftly by a 29-yard field goal from Baltimore’s rookie kicker Tyler Loop. But Dallas answered back when cornerback Andrew Booth intercepted former Cowboy Cooper Rush and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown - giving the home side a fleeting 7-5 lead.
From there, the game tilted decisively in the Ravens' favor. Rush found Keith Kirkwood on a fourth-down scramble for a go-ahead touchdown, and Loop proceeded to drill field goals from 51 and 42 yards before halftime to push the edge to 18-7.
In the second half, the Cowboys offense showed brief sparks - Joe Milton connected with Jonathan Mingo for a 49-yard gain, setting up a Brandon Aubrey field goal. But progress stalled, and Baltimore added more points, including a touchdown by D’Ernest Johnson and another field goal from Loop, who ended the night 5-for-6 on PATs, including a 53-yarder.
