Early voting is underway across Texas and Crowley voters are being asked to approve a $1 Billion bond package where most of the money will be used to build new schools.
Just 20 minutes south of downtown Fort Worth, Crowley is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Families are flocking to Crowley where affordable homes are still available. And because of all the growth, Crowley's schools are overcrowded and new ones are needed.
The billion dollar bond package is broken down into three proposals:
Part A calls for more than $948 Million to build 7 new schools, upgrade exisiting campuses and buy land for future development.
Part B calls for over $95 Million for a new inclusive outdoor learning center for special needs students.
Part C calls for $128 Million to be used to build a new performing arts center.
Anyone who lives in the Crowley school district can vote on the proposal which will not increase the tax rate if approved, according to reports.
