There will be a fireworks show in downtown Dallas this evening to ring in the new year. The show is sponsored by Reunion Tower and Hunt Realty Investments. The show will be one of the largest in the southwest.

The fireworks will be launched from the top of Reunion Tower. Crews began installing the fireworks on Wednesday. This year's show by Pyrotecnico will feature 15,000 pounds of fireworks - which is 5,000 more than last year.

There will be no viewing of the show from the lawn of Reunion Tower or some restricted areas within the "hot zone", but the display should be visible from most of downtown Dallas and the surrounding neighborhoods.

NBC 5 KXAS will provide coverage of the show. Their "Lone Star NYE: Countdown to 2023" telecast starts at 11:30pm and runs until 12:30am. There will also be a musical performance by North Texas native Casey Donahew. You can also tune in to the musical simulcast on 98.7 KLUV.
