Dallas city leaders are getting started on plans to select a new City Manager after the current City Manager announced he is stepping down after 7 years on the job.
T.C. Broadnax says his last day on the job will be June 3rd. He has been the City Manager of Dallas for seven years.
The Dallas City Council has a committee meeting today to discuss the process they want to use for choosing someone to fill the job temporarily.
Some members of the City Council have called a separate meeting for Tuesday. They want to go ahead and name current Deputy City Manager Kimberly Tolbert as the Interim City Manager.
Whoever is named to the interim position could serve several months.
Larger cities frequently hire an outside search firm to help them find and recruit candidates for the top job.
