Dallas county commissioners had to rescinded their order to prioritize certain zip codes to get the vaccine because the state didn't like it, and threatened to pull vaccines from the county.
The Dallas County commissioners had agreed to prioritize vaccinating residents of certain lower income zip codes in south Dalllas after it was found that more residents in so-called 'wealthier neighborhoods' got the vaccine at the Fair Park hub last week.
But the state sent a letter to Dallas County warning them that if they do this, they will reduce the weekly vaccine allocation and no longer consider Dallas County a hub provider.
In an emergency meeting Dallas county judge Clay Jenkins told fellow commissioners they stood to lose out on 9,000 doses.
The commissioners say they plan to revisit the idea after consulting with the state.
