A Dallas advisory committee is expected to consider next week whether to allow the Texas Stock Exchange to install a large electronic ticker on its future headquarters in Uptown.

The Dallas Special Sign District Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations to the Dallas Plan Commission, has scheduled a special meeting Tuesday to review the proposal.

The Texas Stock Exchange is seeking approval for an electronic ticker that would wrap around two sides of its planned building near the intersection of Harwood Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

According to meeting documents, the display would be limited to information related to the stock exchange and would not be used for third-party advertising.

Committee materials indicate staff are recommending approval of the proposal, though the advisory committee will make its recommendation during Tuesday's meeting before the matter advances through the city's review process.

The Texas Stock Exchange announced plans to establish its headquarters in Dallas as it works to launch a new national securities exchange, positioning the city as a growing hub for financial services. If approved, the ticker would become a prominent feature of the exchange's new Uptown headquarters.
