After being closed for seven months, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas is opening for an event today, one day after Dallas County raised its Coronavirus risk level.
On Wednesday, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins raised the color-coded risk assessment to Red, the highest on the scale.
Under level Red, people are advised to stay home rather than go out for optional activiities.
But today, the convention center opens its doors for the three-day Mecum Auto Auction. In fact, the place has been open for the past couple days for the seller's check-in. But today, the doors are open to the public.
There are some protocols to observe. Wear a mask. Of course, that's mandatory. You'll get your forehead scanned at the door and anyone with a fever higher than 100-point-four is not welcome. Seating will be properly socially distanced and you'll find a bunch of hand sanitizer stations scattered around.
