A Dallas County grand jury has indicted a DeSoto man on a murder charge for a fatal July road rage shooting.
Court records show 48-year-old John Luster of DeSoto is accused of opening fire on a man who was driving his pickup truck in the Uptown area of Dallas this past Summer.
The victim, later identified as 37-year-old Sayed Lutfi, was found badly wounded in a truck that crashed on Fairmount Street near Woodall Rodgers.
He died several days later.
Luster was caught because the victim was on the phone with 9-1-1 at the time saying a man had pulled a gun on him. He was able to give the gunman's license plate number to the dispatcher before he was shot. Police reports say the dispatcher heard several gunshots over the phone.
Luster was quickly arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
