A Dallas County jury has convicted a man of capital murder in the death of his 3 year old son.
Brandon Edwards was found guilty of capital murder in the January 2019 smothering death of his 3-year old son, Bryson. Because prosecutors did not seek the death sentence the penalty was automatic, life without parole.
Edwards' daughter testified that she and her brother had witnessed Edwards attacking their mother and that both tried to intervene by throwing a game controller at Edwards.
According to reports, he chased the children, grabbing Bryson and dragging the boy into another room where the child was smothered.
Edwards was arrested trying to get out a window.
