New information has been released regarding a Dallas County public defender who was allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
Police reports show that 28-year-old Ragan Moreno was arrested and charged after it was discovered that she was spending hours with an inmate who was not her client, raising suspicions.
After a closer look at the conversations it was noted that she had begun an inappropriate relationship with an inmate named Todd Whitfield.
Following several visits, reports say Moreno looked up Whitfield's brother who was facing assault charges himself. Moreno gave Whitfield the personal information of his brothers victims which Whitfield later emailed the victims and threatened them.
Moreno has been charged with abuse of official capacity. She has since bonded out of jail. Moreno had been with Dallas County for 8 months.
