Dallas County has confirmed the first measles case in the ongoing outbreak in Texas.

Dallas County Health and Human Services Director Dr. Phil Huang says the woman is in her mid-20s and was fully vaccinated.

He says it is unusual but since she is fully vaccinated it makes it unlikely she would have a severe infection.

"It seems to be an isolated case. At this point we don't know where she got it," Dr. Huang said. "There is no history of traveling to West Texas."

Dallas County is working to identify anyone who was exposed.

"We did identify some areas where she was out in the public," Dr. Huang said. "We are trying to notify the public if they were in the same area to try and monitor for those symptoms."

Anyone who was at Lemma Coffee Plano on May 31st in the late morning or First Baptist Plano on the afternoon of June 1st may be at risk of developing the measles.

A majority of measles cases in the ongoing outbreak are in West Texas.
