
The Cowboys are settling into their team hotel in Oxnard where Dallas opens training camp Wednesday.
On Monday the players, coaches and staff boarded a chartered American Airlines jet at DFW Airport for the three-hour flight to Southern California. Boarding a half-dozen full-size charter buses, the travelling party was driven to the Oxnard Residence inn at River Ridge which will be team headquarters until the Cowboys break camp on August 15th.
Mike McCarthy was the first man off the first bus, leading his team through a welcoming party of clapping hotel personnel welcoming the 'Boys to their 17th training camp in Oxnard about 20 miles west of Thousand Oaks where the Cowboys held training camp during the Tom Landry era.
The first practice open to the public is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Oxnard time at River Ridge Playing Fields, adjacent to the hotel which has been turned into a multi-field training facility during the Cowboys' stay.
The team's official welcome to the fans, Cowboys Back Together Weekend, is this Saturday. There will be live music, Dallas Cowboys alumni appearances, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders signing autographs, prizes and other give-aways.
Jerry Jones will give a talk and then the Saturday workouts will begin at 11:30 a.m.
The Cowboys' annual Heroes Appreciation Day for military personnel and first responders will be August 7th.
Dallas breaks camp on August 15th before the Cowboys depart for their second pre-season game in Seattle on Saturday, August 19th. Then it's back to Frisco to prepare for their third pre-season match-up against the Raiders on August 26th.

And finally the 2023 campaign gets underway on September 10th in East Rutherford, New Jersey where Dallas opens the season against the division-rival Giants in the first Sunday Night Football game of the season.
The next week is the home opener for the Cowboys, hosting the New York Jets now led by long-time Cowboys nemesis Aaron Rodgers who has won eight of his eleven meetings against Dallas including the last four in a row.
