Now that vouchers are coming to Texas, school districts need to get ready, but some say they're already struggling to keep up.

A bus full of Dallas ISD teachers traveled to Austin last month to testify before the Texas House Education Committee against school choice vouchers. They said that two-thirds of Texans oppose vouchers and noted that Dallas ISD already has to fill a $127 million gap in its upcoming budget.

Adding that even if the legislature increases per-student funding, vouchers would divert money away from public schools. Some have also said public schools take every child, but private schools can pick and choose whether they accept special education students or kids with disciplinary issues.
