Before dawn Wednesday, police got a call from a driver who had discovered a body along a deserted stretch of Merrifield Drive near Mountain Creek Lake.
With no identification on the body, police had to wait for the Dallas County Medical Examiner to learn who it was.
Now officials says the shooting victim was a 14-year-old girl named Nevaeh Foster. So far, though, detectives don't know why she was killed or who did it.
