Dallas Police say they are following up on leads and investigating tips following the death of 73-year-old Linda Pearson and her dog.

It happened last Friday afternoon when a black Chevrolet Impala was racing a yellow Chevy Camaro on Ferguson Road when the Impala hit Pearson as she crossed the street.

Dallas Police say neither driver stopped to help.

Major Richard Foy is the commander of the street racing task force for DPD and says often drivers don't realize the danger they put themselves and others in when they race.

The community meeting will be held online with councilwoman Paula Blackmon and starts at 5:00 p.m. Login information can be found on Blackmon’s Facebook page.
