Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux terminated four department employees on Monday following a series of internal disciplinary hearings in Dallas, public safety officials confirmed.
According to a news release from the Dallas Police Department, the terminations involved two sworn police officers and two civilian personnel from the department’s communications division. Each action followed separate internal investigations into policy violations and alleged misconduct.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed that Officer Nakisha Cardwell was terminated following her arrest in Mesquite on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Cardwell, who joined the department in 2018, was assigned to the South-Central Patrol Division.

The department also fired Senior Corporal Sarah Lenhart for violating internal personnel rules of conduct. According to police records, Lenhart was assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division and had served on the Dallas police force for nearly 20 years, having been hired in November 2006.
In addition to the sworn officers, Chief Comeaux terminated two 911 call center employees within the communications division. Department records show that Sanjuana Gonzalez, a Police Dispatch Analyst III hired in January 2004, was fired for being absent without leave from her duty assignment. Karen Gutierrez, a 911 Call Analyst hired in October 2021, was terminated for unapproved leave without pay due to excessive absences.
According to department reports, a fifth employee, Sergeant Daylon Grandberry, received a 15-day disciplinary suspension during the same Monday proceedings.
Dallas police officials did not report any injuries or public safety compromises connected to the administrative actions, emphasizing that daily operations across patrol divisions and emergency dispatch centers remain fully active and uninterrupted.
