A 17-year-old girl who was forced into prostitution was rescued by Dallas police during a traffic stop on August 20th.

Dallas Police say a traffic stop took place in the 11100 block of Harry Hines Boulevard, where officers found the teen with a driver. Detectives identified 32-year-old Deon Harris as the person who compelled the girl to engage in prostitution.

Deputy Chief Stephen Williams, commander of the West Patrol Group, said, “I commend these officers and detectives for their swift response and compassion shown to this victim. Their diligent efforts led to the rescue of a vulnerable person and the arrest of the suspect. This case is one of many that highlights our continued commitment to pursuing justice and protecting victims of exploitation.”

Harris was arrested and booked on a first-degree felony charge of compelling prostitution of a minor under 18.
