They may not be able to get to every illegal street race, but Dallas Police say their task force is putting a stop to a lot of fast cars.
The Dallas Police special task force made 33 arrests, conducted almost 200 traffic stops, and wrote-up 181 citations for illegal races between Friday night and Sunday.
Police say that guns and drugs were also recovered during some of these stops.
Official say part of the challenge in fighting this illegal activity is the 'pop-up' nature of the races.
Dallas Police Sergeant Warren Mitchell says part of their surveillance uses the helicopter, Air-1 to look for crowds, another part is keeping an eye peeled and ear open.
Because of a Dallas ordinance last year, Police can also issue citations to those watching the races, not just those who are racing.
