The Dallas City Council has scheduled a vote today to decide on a proposal to buy a vacant hospital to house the homeless.

The plan would allocate more than $6 million in bond money to acquire the one-time University General Hospital on South Hampton near Kiest.

The hospital has been closed for about eight years.
