
The Rotary Club of Dallas is holding an event today to honor those who have served in the military. The annual "Salute to America's Veterans" event at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field from 11:30am until 1:00pm.

"It's really trying to get our community veterans back out and socializing," said event chairman Charles Ashcraft. This is the 17th year for the event, which raises money for the USO and other organizations.
Ashcraft hopes people will use the opportunity to recognize those who have served their country. "We're only here because of them," he said. "They protect our home front every day."
Several veterans of World War II are scheduled to attend, including former Dallas ISD Superintendent Linus Wright.
