The Dallas Stars are on the brink of advancing to the Western Conference Finals after a commanding 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4 on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center.
Veteran forward Mikael Granlund led the charge with his first career playoff hat trick, scoring all three goals for Dallas.
Goaltender Jake Oettinger was instrumental in the win, stopping 31 of 32 shots to secure the team's 3-1 series lead.
Granlund opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period, added another in the second, and completed the hat trick with an empty-netter late in the third.
The Jets' lone goal came from Nikolaj Ehlers early in the second period. Despite outshooting the Stars 32-24, Winnipeg struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, going 0-for-3 on the power play.
