An 18-year-old woman is now in custody in connection with a deadly shooting that left a 13-year-old boy dead, Dallas police said.
Authorities announced Monday that Saryiah Sanford Griffin was arrested by U.S. Marshals. She has been charged with capital murder.
Investigators say the shooting occurred March 11 just before 11 p.m. in the 2000 block of Pin Tail Court, near South Hampton Road and Interstate 20. When officers arrived, they found 13-year-old Marcus Reeves Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported him to a hospital.
Police said Reeves died several days later from his injuries.
