There is a tragic update out of Dallas where police say a woman who was taken to the hospital two days after she was assaulted has now died.
It was February 24th when Dallas police got the call to check on 52-year-old Lawanda Mitchell. When they got there, they found her on the floor of her apartment. She was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police determined that 33-year-old Barron Wallace assaulted her two days earlier. On March 1, police arrested him on outstanding warrants and he was charged with injury to an Elderly and/or Disabled Person.
With Mitchell's death, Wallace will be charged with murder. Police have not released any information on a motive or any relation between the victim and suspect.
