Two Dallas golfers, Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler, are holding their own after Thursday's round one of the PGA Championship in Rochester, New York.
For the time being, DeChambeau is one shot off the pace in second place and Scheffler is tied for third at three-under, two behind leader Eric Cole.
But there's some uncertainty because Cole could not finish his first round because of darkness at Oak Hill Country Club. Cole finished just 14 holes so he will have to finish the round today and it's still possible DeChambeau could be the leader if Cole falters.
Dallas Jesuit and UT alum Jordan Speith struggled early, ending Thursday's round at three-over, tied for 63rd on the leaderboard.
Neither DeChambeau, Scheffler nor Spieth have ever won the PGA Championship.
