DFW Airport is urging passengers to check with their airline before coming to the airport for flights over the next two days. Through 3 p.m. Wednesday, the website, FlightAware, had reported 317 cancellations; departures were delayed an average of 51 minutes.

"Our Ops team is working this morning to keep the airport safe for travel. Please leave yourself extra time to get to the airport and check with your airline as there are delays or cancellations today," DFW wrote on Twitter.
In Terminal C, some passengers were crowding American Airlines ticket counters trying to re-book flights. One woman headed to Nashville says she was worried her flight scheduled for Thursday would be cancelled, so she came to the airport to try to get on a flight today.
"I got here. The roads were crazy, but I'm staying positive," she says.
Another headed to Portland, Oregon says her flight Wednesday morning was cancelled, but she was hoping to book another flight Wednesday night.
"I hope that one doesn't get cancelled," she says. "I keep hearing a guy in line saying something about it being cancelled, but we'll see. Weather is weather. Winter is a hard time to travel."
She says she had been offered $300 to take a flight Thursday, but with weather forecast to worsen, she says she and her husband wanted to leave now.
"We really need to get home," she said, laughing. "Right now, as far as we know, we've got a flight home today."
