Denton Co. commissioners approve money for vaccine management system

DENTON (1080 KRLD) - The Denton County Commissioners Court has unanimously approved money to purchase a vaccine management system.

"The software system would be a critical element in the rollout of that vaccine," County Judge Andy Eads said during Friday's Commissioners Court meeting.

The purpose of the system will make for an orderly administration of the vaccines.

"This is a management system where the public can register for their vaccine, that that they can be in a queue," says Judge Eads. "It can remind them of when they need to come back for their second dose, so it's a very high tech sophisticated computer system."

The county will pay $271,000 for the first year and $186,000 for each subsequent year.

The system is a partnership between Microsoft and Mazik Global.

The goal is to have the system up and running within days.

"I know that they're working diligently over the weekend and Monday to try to get this done as soon as possible," Judge Eads says.
