Denton County Commissioners are finalizing plans for a $540 million bond package this fall to fund roads, bridges and transportation projects. The County will hold a workshop meeting for residents to offer their input this afternoon at 1:00pm at the Denton County Administrative Courthouse.

"Denton County has a very successful model on taking the lead on road and bridge projects across the County," said County Judge Andy Eads.

Residents will be able to attend the meeting this afternoon and offer feedback about which projects should be included in the bond package. Commissioners could then vote at their regular meeting next week to put the plan on the November 8th ballot.

Denton County has not held a bond election since 2008.

"If we're going to issue bonds in the future, I believe we can issue bonds and increase future tax rates," Denton County Auditor Jeff May said at a recent meeting.

Details on the proposed 2022 Transportation Road Improvement Program can be found on Denton County's web site.
