A Denton County man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for ordering child pornography from overseas.

Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs said John Prentice Robertson, 65, of Aubrey, pleaded guilty in October to producing child pornography. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone handed down a 360-month sentence.

According to prosecutors, Robertson ordered illicit material from adult women in the Philippines between May 2022 and April 2024. The women recorded young children, under the age of 12, performing sexual acts and sent the videos to Robertson via social media or live stream.

Robertson admitted spending more than $8,000 between 2015 and 2021 using a single money service to obtain the content, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas said.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.justice.gov/psc.
