The Denton County Transportation Authority has started a series of meetings to take comments on proposed changes to the system's schedule and fare structure. Meetings started Monday morning and will continue through the 11th of May.
DCTA is considering three options for its fare structure. One would keep a flat-rate fare in place; another would charge people by the mile; the third would be a hybrid of the two.

"We want to hear from the public if those are easy to understand and how much a fair pricing model might be," said DCTA's Pamela Burns.
DCTA has also launched "GoZone," an on-demand ride-share service to connect people from transit stops to final destinations. The organization is also taking input on how GoZone and fixed routes are working together.
Proposed changes could include alterations to bus routes, hours they operate and their frequency.
"A fixed-route bus might operate primarily during peak travel hours around employment times of day," Burns said. "We're also looking at a review of multi-modal trips and how those interact with each other."

DCTA plans to present ideas to its Board of Directors in June; changes to service and fare structure would take effect in September.
