To help cope with long security lines, passengers at DFW Airport now have a "fast pass" option to shorten the wait.
The airport is engaging in a trial run of the new program allowing passengers to set an appointment online. The passenger will be met by a staffer and will be escorted past the line right up to the screening area.
Fast Pass passengers will still have to remove shoes and belts. It's a little like the TSA Pre-Check program which costs $85 for five year, but this program is free.
In fact, DFW Airport is throwing in $5 food vouchers to sweeten the deal.
For now, the Fast Pass is available at only one check-point at Terminal D, Gate 18. And it's only during the day, operating from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.
