Renting a movie from a store may be a thing of the past, but now a new art exhibit is giving DFW that experience once again.

The Video Crypt is a recreation of 80s and '90s video rental stores with plenty of nostalgic VHS tapes on display. While guests won't be able to actually rent the movies, they will get to walk through and check out the selections like many did back in the day.

Located inside the Texas Theatre's Safe Room gallery, the video rental store exhibit is the creation of two of the cinema's employees, Vianca Vega and Chad Pierce.

Both had a large collection of rare VHS tapes and wanted a way to display them. While guests won't be able to rent movies, they can still spend money on merchandising such as t-shirts and buttons with the store logo.

According to Dallas Observer, the new art exhibit will be open for a month. They will even host this month's Dallas VHS Swap. While it may not be the same as going to Blockbuster to pick up a movie, it's the next best thing.
