The Dallas-Fort Worth area now has about twice as many COVID-19 patients as the entire state of Louisiana.
That's according to DFW Hospital Council President/CEO Stephen Love. As of Tuesday, Love said local hospitals were treating 3,183 patients for coronavirus-related issues.
COVID-19 cases make up 21% of the patient population, and 46% of adult ICU beds are occupied by COVID patients.
That has left the entire region with only about 60 available ICU beds, with Denton County and Collin County each in the single digits.
Love also told KRLD News the average median age of patients being treated for coronavirus is rising again.
