DFW health officials asking public to help slow COVID-19 spread, figures beginning to decline

With children’s hospitals in DFW near or at capacity, health officials are begging people to do whatever they can to slow the spread of the virus.

However, Stephen Love, with the DFW Hospital Council says there is light at the end of the tunnel. He says COVID-19 cases in North Texas appear to be on a downward trend once again and that, if that’s truly the case, in about 10 days, hospitalizations could decrease.

"But, people still need to wear a mask, they need to get vaccinated, that's what helps drive down those cases," Love said.

With Labor Day this weekend and flu season creeping up, Love says now is not the time to let your guard down.
