The fatal wreck happened within seconds of a minor fender-bender in the eastbound lanes of I-30 near State Highway 161.  Gaston, who was driving a Camaro that was involved in the accident, at first left the scene, but for some reason stopped in the middle of the interstate, police say.

"The 2012 Nisson Versa that was occupied by a 34 year old Dallas man accompanied by his two daughters, ages five and eight, crashed into the back of the Camaro" said Sgt. Eric Hansen, Grand Prairie Police.

Both of the girls were wearing seatbelts in the backseat, Hansen said.  He was not aware of what caused the girl's death saying that was still part of the investigation.

"The driver of the Camaro we determined, was intoxicated, admitted to marijuana use as well as alcohol and was arrested at the scene for DWI.  And then those charges were upgraded to intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault."

The names of the victims have not been released
