The state health department is reporting a case of measles in North Texas -- the first case in the state since 2019.
A young child from Hood County was recently diagnosed and the health department says the child hasn't traveled anywhere where measles is spreading and has not been exposed to anyone else with them.
This is the first confirmed case since travel related outbreaks in 2019 that led to 23 cases.
Symptoms include fever, rash lasting at least 3 days, cough, and runny nose
